I did the Steaks and Potato's, Anna did the Salad and Wine. The Steaks where from Joes Butcher Shop with 2 Different Teriyaki Marinades.
We walked over with Holly, our bassett to get them and then while the potatoes where cooking, we went to the Carmel Valentine Walk in the Carmel Art's and Design district we live in.
The Wine was from Columbia Winery - Cellmaster Riesling 2007 that we loved and road to when we lived in Woodville, Wa. We get it here locally at Marsh Supermarke.

1월 26일 20090126 - First Video Shoot under my beltJanuary is rocking along and I am very excited to have completed my first Video Shoot!
It was for my Dad to cover a couple of modification he has made for a wood working tool he uses.
He is active in his CarveWright community and this was to assist one of the postings he had made in the discussion forums.
The video, bloopers and lessions learned are all documented and available below.
I really enjoy this so far and look forward to more shoots, editing and posting.
Dad's blog entry with the video is at http://wwwshop-wwwshop.blogspot.com/2009/01/carvewright-quick-release-chuck.html
My bloopers blog entry and video is at http://dgrigsby.blogspot.com/2009/01/lessons-learned-from-my-first-on.html
Here is the video of the bloopers, enjoy!
1월 20일 20090120 - Awesome Day - President Obama Inauguration and my First Family Video from VHS on YouTubeWow I am still on a feel good ride!
I was only able to watch 1 hour of the Inauguration, the swearing in and President Obama's speach, but it was deeply inspiring!
I had to watch it over the air via my media center as CNN like the rest was swamped and not able to handle the number of viewers - something to keep in mind and an area to improve in the industry.
I have two major personal projects I am working on concerning family pictures and video. Here is a teaser video I just uploaded to YouTube that was taken almost 20 years ago. I chose this one as it is short and a number of key people in the video have passed. It shows how YouTube can be annotated. I am looking for a complete list of who is in the video, so I can revise it with the names and links to other videos and pictures as my project progresses.
Most of all, please enjoy seeing those whom we have not seen for a while, think of good times together and smile :-)
If you click this link it will take your to YouTube player page for this video and you can add comments and rate the video. If you don't have a YouTube account, you can create one for free or use your Google account as your YouTube Account. Please email me if you have questions and I will help you through the process!
I am going to post a blog entry on my professional site tomorrow about how I am doing the VHS to DVD to YouTube conversion, the scope of the project and the effort needed to pull it off, so look for the post tomorrow evening.
1월 16일 20090116 - Prime Time with You TubeI have my youtube account up and running as part of one of my Santa projects for me, family and Grigsby Consulting and I am excited.
I have been converting VHS home videos to digital media and then editing them to publish to Youtube.
This entry serves as a good test with more to come on a regular basis.
1월 4일 20090104 - Christmas, New Year, Vette!!!!Okay, I have some pictures to load, but we have had a great holiday season and hope you have too.
Did I mention, that "Lives" new photo features are less robust than the old... sucks, can't move pictures or albums as far as order.... Really looking for a new home now.
Our family found a 1989 Vette that we are selling on eBay, sweet ride. Only down side is if it dosen't fetch the price we want, we will just have to keep it :-)
Happy New Year!!!
12월 16일 20081216 - What do you get when you add to much oil and not enough transmission fluid ?Answer:
Poorly Functioning 1992 Sable known as Susie.
Warning --- I am going to vent here, but hopefully it will save someone the same result..
History:
Okay, so I purchased/loaned/repurchased the 1992 Sable from my brother-in-law David Haboush 2 falls ago for Zach. It was Dad loan me the money to get this, good deal and I will use it to get to work and back and to College and back.
Okay car, thanks David Haboush.
So I didn't do a great job of explaining all the fluid locations for him, as I clearly stated "get a Chiltons" and read your manual, you need to get to know your car.
So after 18 months I finnaly get my $500 back, $25 a week, after not paying at all (big dispute in March) in July of 2008. Then I have the fun of helping him limp the car from St. Fancis at Southport back to the north side after I am told it is smoking and not starting right.
Come to find out, it was 5 quarts of oil over full and the Transmission fluid was not even registering.
Now the engine knocks and pings - Probably lifters, bent rods and rings that are none to happy, and a transmission that wont shift out of first aka max speed 15 miles per hour.
Lesson Learned:
Watch over your kids vehicles fuild levels, till you know they have it down and know what is what.
So I bought it back for $50 bucks so I could take ownership after it sat for 4 months of him ignoring it (with expired plates since May), paid for plates and today I spent time after replacing batttery $80, to find out how bad it was.
Cost:
A. Do it your self Transmission: $300 and you need to be experienced, as anyone who has ever done this knows, most mechanics and shops farm it out to the guys that do it well.
B. Guys that do it well: $1275 to rebuild
Value of Car:
$800 on a good day
So now two options to resolve this and get rid of an extra $95 in insurance for a non-functional vehicle:
1. Junk for Money (I chose this option)
$100 and free tow
2. Junk for Deduction:
Recap:
1. No interest on loan to son of $500 for 18 months :-) (okay at least I got paid back :-) )
2. Sitll ended up being my problem - Arg matie, walk the plank!
3. Need to expect less and offer more guidance - I will try harder to educate and participate more supportively :-)
4. Total cost to me $50 buy back + $80 Battery -(refund of $35 for used battery <24 hours) + $35 title and plate - $100 salvage = -($30) and learned alot about me and my son whom I dearly love. Cheep lesson learned in the whole big picture
Hope you have a great chuckle, I did :-)
Zach and Susie Sable - One last time together
12월 15일 20081215 - Ah Holidays and Vacation TimeWell it is the holidays again and Happy Holidays to you and yours!
Already it has been a fast month - Tree at our House, Tree downtown Indy, rememberance of loved ones who have passed before use, Holiday Dinner at Beef and Boards, Lunch with dear friends from my youth and I am on vacation till Jan 5th!!!!!!!
Enjoy the pictures :-) 12월 1일 200811 - Month of Birthdays, a passing and Thanksgiving!It was a month of Birthdays!!! - Al, Mac and Eddie - 4th, Jamie - 11th, Theresa -22nd (Passed on the 12th), Beth - 26th and mine on the 29th!
Thanksgiving was great as was my birthday! I love the four day weekend, especially when my bday is on Saturday after Thanksgiving!! Food, Family and time to chill and relax!!!
I have updated the albums for most of November. I am keeping my status updates on Facebook and I may migrate my pictures to Flickr, as it has a map feature I really like, but we will see. I want Microsoft to add the people taging Feature like Facebook and the Map feature like Flickr as well as the picture info Flickr has. I will wait a little, but if no features, I will move them.
Happy Thanksgiving!!!! 11월 19일 20081119 - Family - Game NightI don't want to complain, but I am putting in a statement that I am really tired of Funeral homes.
I am sad to say that Theresa Barger-Haboush, Jeff's ex-wife, Ryan and Chelsea's Mom passed away last Wednesday, 11/12/2008 and the Funeral was Monday.
We don't really know how, why, that will come from the coroner's report next week. Regarless it is untimely and sad.
So we got dressed up, tooks some quick pics on the way out the door, and then later that night came home and player risk with the boys. The pictures are so we can restart the game this weekend from where we left off. Anna is Green, Matt is Gray, Zach is Red and I am Blue.
I am looking forward to next week, as it is Thanksgiving and my birthday falls on the that Saturday!!! Whoot !!!!!
Be Thankful for all that you have had, have and will have, most of all your Family and Friends :-)
11월 5일 20081105 - Post election thoughtsWell a very interesting election and I am so glad that Anna and I voted absentee, as yesterday was very hectic and didn't quite go as planned.
We stopped by to see Al on his birthday, family was to have dinner and party, but to say the least there where serious timing issues with others not meeting their commitments. He got out to vote yesterday and will go home in a week per the case workers.
I was commenting on facebook on Sean's comment about Obama, Branding and delivery. Here is my take on a successful 4 years :
It will say volumes about america to the rest of the world as well as at home. Many of us are looking for a JFK promise and america in my mind needs a goal beyond winning a war that stretches our humanity - Stable economy (food on the table in your home), economically afforable univerally available health care and social security that function after 2017 would be an interesting trio. 11월 4일 20081104 - Go vote!!! Happy Birthdays go out to Al, Mac and EdI hope you all have a chance to vote today. I think we can all say positive change through either candidate is needed, America can be more than it is presently.
Happy Birthday Al, Mac and Ed. This is a busy month for Birthdays - Three just today :-)
Also, check out my facebook for more moment to moment blurbs. 10월 31일 20081031 - Happy HalloweenAh the fun of trick or treaters!!!
I have a couple pictures of the kids that stopped by tonight!
Great day, can't remember a halloween so nice as this one was weather wise.
Also, I have a picture of Dad from our lunch today as well.
Hope you had a great day!
10월 29일 20081029 - Fall has come and is leaving fastokay, sorry been a while, but I have been really busy and as always learned some new things about me and the world in general.
I have lots of pictures I will add tonight and over the weekend. My office has been relocated from the second floor to the basement. We did this so we could make the office for the whole family and I could be next to my lab area as well.
I like keeping this space for personal items, so I will update my professional site with what projects I have been working on.
Also, I now have a facebook site, so check it out for "more in the moment" items, but pictures, etc will stay here.
Big items: Apple Orchard, Al back in hospital (still there), IKEA/Brands/Micro Center trip to Cincinatti, OH, I am returning to IUPUI in spring 2009 to complete my BA in Computer Science thus the math studying :-), etc. As I load pictures I am sure the last 90 days will come flooding back, did I mention I was really busy - (lots of work).
Yep, and the memories did come zooming back- Visits with Audrey, Lilly, Birthday Parties, Everett and Barbara Cass (Judy's oldest brother - first wife Barbara passed 8 year ago, Yep second wife is Barbara as well), End of Summer Concert by Endless Summer - Nick Lemo's band, College Day with Matt and Clint at IU in Bloomington, Sushi at Kona Grill, drinks with Jim Hochstatter when he was in town last week - No pictures to protect the innoc... well us :-)
Happy Halloween!
